An apricot longs for a lover. In his fantasy of a romantic, intimate relationship, he learns to love and to be loved. Is it only by becoming part of mother nature can we forever be intertwined?
Combining live-action and stop-motion animation, “How To Hold An Apricot” is a love letter to the 90s mandarin romance culture that my generation grew up in. Heavily influenced by pop music, films and TV shows of the era, this film pays tribute to the visual style and depiction of unrequitted love.

一颗渴望爱的杏子，在浪漫梦境里拥有流动的躯壳。在流动中它试图探索爱的边境，但或许躯体本身便是爱的边境，当我们放弃躯体的束缚，才能得到真正无私、无瑕、无尽的爱。
影片可以被看作是两个相辅相成的主题的结合：对爱的不同形式的想象，与对上世纪华语流行文化中芭乐、情爱主题的怀旧与致敬。《杏子》 的视觉呈现融合了复古的场景设计与超现实的角色形象，但归根究底讲的还是最传统、最古典的爱的主题。
