“Lotus Lake” is an interactive web art that explores the topic of nostalgia and romanticization of a cultural root considered as “home”. By interacting with visual and literary elements, a fictional past based on mandarin culture unveils from stories of different characters. Inspired by 90s Taiwanese band Mayday’s signature song “Embrace”, the lyrics are deconstructed and weaved into each “chapter” to form an unconventional, experimental non-linear narrative.
《荷花池》 是一部构建于对某种被称之为“家”的文化根源的怀旧情绪与浪漫情节的网页交互艺术。在与视觉和文字元素互动的过程中，观众会拼凑出一个基于芭乐文化与九十年代生活的虚构世界。在这个世界里，不同角色上演着属于他们的故事，而这些故事交织在一起，唤起了一种难以言喻的忧伤而美丽的情感。
这部作品的灵感来源于五月天的经典歌曲 《拥抱》，以及白先勇的小说 《孽子》。《拥抱》 中的歌词被拆解、融合进作品中的不同“章节”，构建出一次非常规、非线性的视觉与叙事体验。
